"I was caught up in spirit on the Lord’s day..."
"I was caught up in spirit on the Lord’s day and heard behind me a voice as loud as a trumpet, which said, “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches..." (Rev. 1:10-11a)
I wasn't caught up like John of Patmos, but I did sit contemplating on the Lord's day.
The Lord's day, but without Mass. Again.
The whole world caught up in a global pandemic. Schools and businesses closed. People quarantined in their homes.
And the Churches. All dark.
So I sat in prayer, wondering what I could do with my ministry, my diakonia, locked up here in my house.
And then it occurred to me...I had tried my hand as a blogger many years ago, before life got too crazy with work and ministry and kids (and now a grandson!). The Lord reminded me in that brief moment of inspiration that I now had plenty of time again...
...time to reach out online, to write on this 'digital scroll' what I see. I'm not John of Patmos, but I was ordained to be a herald of the Gospel. So, I've found the highest rooftop I could and I am shouting.
Shouting joy and love into the maelstrom of all of this current darkness.
Maybe no one will hear. That part, I have to leave up to the Lord.
So, if you are reading this: Welcome and may the peace of the Lord be with you.
